Principal Environmental Consultant / Manager
The Opportunity
Due to current and future workloads and to facilitate the ongoing growth of our team, we require an experienced consultant to work alongside the company Directors in navigating upcoming exciting changes and leading our team to continue to deliver to our usual high standards.
The role will require the successful candidate to:
• contribute on a technical level to environmental consulting projects
• carry out overarching co-ordination of project delivery
• manage, lead and help to develop the technical team
• manage client relationships
• identify and pursue new project opportunities
• assist in setting and delivering the Business Plan
• contribute to ongoing strategic planning for company growth and diversification
• directly influence and contribute to growth of the team and resources

About You
To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
• relevant tertiary qualification (degree minimum) in botany, ecology, biological science, environmental science, environmental management, natural resource management, conservation biology or equivalent
• a proven track record in leading technical personnel, and in positively influencing the culture, direction, and development of teams
• experience in managing scopes, budgets, schedules, and the technical quality of outputs for environmental consulting projects
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• experience in the preparation of proposals and tenders for environmental consulting scopes of work
• current Western Australian C-class driver’s licence
• pride in delivering high-quality outputs
• a can-do attitude and willingness to work harmoniously with the team and our valued clients
Candidates who meet some or all of the following criteria will be highly regarded:
• experience in biological (flora and/or fauna) assessments and monitoring programs, including technical reporting and review of reports, in accordance with Western Australian and Commonwealth regulatory guidelines
• environmental impact assessment, approvals and compliance experience in accordance with Western Australian and Commonwealth regulatory guidelines and requirements
• experience in identifying new business opportunities and in undertaking business development and marketing initiatives to pursue such opportunities
• experience in business strategy and management
• have an established network of colleagues and contacts across a range of industries and sectors in Western Australia

Botanists (all experienced levels) & Botany Team Leader
The Opportunities
To service existing and upcoming projects and achieve planned growth, we are keen to hear from experienced botanists and/or ecologists with botanical expertise, who may be interested in joining our small, busy and friendly team.
The role will require the successful candidate to contribute to biological assessment projects, with tasks including:
- Field work, including to remote and exciting locations
- Vegetation mapping and related spatial data management
- Technical reporting of biological assessment and monitoring field results
For those with relevant experience and interest, there is also an opportunity to fill a Team Leader role, which would include a commensurate salary package inclusive of KPI bonuses.
Depending on experience and aspirations, separate and/or additional to the Botany Team Leader role, there are also be opportunities for contributions to:
- Environmental impact assessments and environmental management
- Zoological/fauna studies
- Project management
- Business development and marketing
Candidate and Role Requirements
We would like to hear from candidates who meet the following requirements:
- relevant tertiary qualifications (degree minimum) in botany, ecology, biological science, environmental science or equivalent
- demonstrated familiarity with current Technical Guidance for flora and vegetation surveys
- the ability to contribute to field flora and vegetation assessments, with an ability to lead assessments, or undertake small assessments independently desirable
- willingness to travel for field assessments, including to remote locations
- familiarity with the flora of Western Australia in various bioregions
- excellent written communication skills
- current Western Australian C-class driver’s licence
- takes pride in delivering high-quality outputs
- enjoy being part of a high-performing team
Candidates who meet the following criteria will be highly regarded:
- proven track record in an environmental consulting team
- capabilities in vegetation mapping, including the use of GIS software and spatial data management
- experience in the preparation of technical biological assessment reports
- knowledge of and/or experience in zoological assessments, in addition to botanical survey expertise
- environmental impact assessment and approvals experience
- experience in project management or co-ordination
- proposal writing and business development experience
