The Opportunity
Our well-established and growing consultancy requires an experienced environmental practitioner to join our Environmental Management (EM) team.
Having recently appointed the EM Team Leader to grow this speciality team, the rapidly growing workload requires the expansion of our personnel.
The EM team works across environmental impact assessment (EIA), environmental approvals and environmental compliance.
The role will require the following contributions:
- Directly contributing to the delivery of EM projects
- Assisting with the management and co-ordination of projects
- Contributions to client relationship management
- Contributions to tenders, proposals and quotes for EM scopes of work
- Assistance, as necessary, with various technical contributions to technical teams outside the EM team (biological assessments, monitoring, etc.)
Depending on experience and aspirations, there are also opportunities for contributions to:
- Leading and mentoring future junior recruits
- Botanical/flora and vegetation studies
- Zoological/fauna studies
- Business development and marketing
- Contributions to broader business operations and strategy
About You
To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- relevant tertiary qualification (degree minimum) in environmental science, environmental management, conservation or equivalent
- demonstrated familiarity with frameworks of the WA EPA, DWER, DMIRS and Commonwealth DCCEEW for environmental assessments, EIA, approvals and compliance
- experience in contributing to EIA, environmental approvals and elements of environmental compliance, such as the preparation of management plans and monitoring programs
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- take pride in delivering high-quality outputs
- a can-do attitude and willingness to work harmoniously with valued clients and a high-performing and supportive team
Candidates who meet the following criteria will be highly regarded:
- proven track record in an environmental consulting team
- knowledge of and/or experience in biological values, assessments, monitoring and management
- proven capabilities in stakeholder consultation
- specific experience in mining EIA, approvals and compliance
A remuneration package commensurate with experience level applies to this role.
