International Darwin Day

International Darwin Day

Charles Robert Darwin, was an English naturalist, geologist and biologist, best known for his contributions to the science of evolution. His proposition that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors is now widely accepted, and considered a foundational concept in science.

Darwin Day is a recently instituted celebration intended to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin on 12 February, 1809. The day is used to highlight Darwin’s contribution to science and to promote science in general.

The mission of International Darwin Day is to inspire people throughout the globe to reflect and act on the principles of intellectual bravery, perpetual curiosity, scientific thinking, and hunger for truth as embodied in Charles Darwin.

As environmental consultants, he sure is an inspiration to us!
